The Samsung Tri-Fold, a new foldable phone concept from the South Korean company, could be launched by the end of 2025.
The launch of the three-fold phone was confirmed by Tae-Moon Roh, president of the company’s Mobile division, and it is expected to be released in the last quarter of this year.
In an interview with The Korea Times, Roh explained that the device is already in an advanced stage of development and that the team is overcoming the technical challenges of this innovation.
He was also asked whether the device would be called Galaxy G Fold, a name that had been suggested for Samsung’s new foldable. But apparently, they have not yet made a final decision on that.
According to the website Android Authority, an executive from the brand confirmed that the tri-fold design is already complete. “We’ve had a tri-fold for a while now, with the complete design. So, it’s not a new concept for us.”
However, he emphasized that Samsung is still evaluating the commercial viability of the smartphone. “When I talk about viability, I mean we need to know if there is actually demand for this format.”
Despite Roh’s expectations, the device may be delayed until 2026. “I can’t say that for sure. We’re ready [for it], we can put it into production, but for what purpose? That’s what we’re investigating deeply right now,” the executive added.
